REDMOND - the world's major software company, Microsoft announced a series of changes to the storage cloud-based storage space, onedrive. Microsoft reported shrinking storage capacity onedrive.
Previously, Microsoft offers 15 GB of storage space for each user onedrive. However, starting in 2016 the company based in Redmond this America will only give 5 GB for each of the current user and new users.
Additionally, 15 GB of additional storage for users who configure the camera phone to upload photos to onedrive will be dismissed as well. As part of these changes, Microsoft also remove the unlimited plans for Office 365 Home, Personal, and the University, in which all users will only get onedrive 1 TB of storage.
As reported by Softpedia, Tuesday (03/11/2015), the company is rumored to make this decision based upon the discovery of some users to upload files of movies and DVR files to their account.
It is considered to burden the server with an additional 75 TB per user. Therefore, the company has focused on providing the high level of productivity and collaboration experience that is beneficial for most users onedrive.
