ASUS recently announced round 3 of the circuit race 2015 Formula ROG OC Showdown. The competition organized by ASUS is the result of collaboration with some of the well-known hardware vendors such as Intel, HyperX, Enermax, and Thermal Grizzly. What's interesting about this race is not the permissibility of the use of extreme cooling such as Liquid Nitrogen so it is suitable for users who are beginners and just about to enter the world of overclocking.
For round 3 ROG OC Showdown there are some benchmarks are divided into 3 stages. The first stage is the Intel XTU where here the participants will run the benchmark. The final score of the benchmark will be divided according to the number of cores of the processor used. To own a minimum temperature is 20oC.
The second stage participants will run a benchmark Realbench and the third stage will run HWBOT x265 Benchmark. At this stage the participants are not allowed to use the Windows 8 / 8.1 / 10 except using Skylake processor. In addition, participants are asked to submit verification of temperature using HWMonitor application. Processor minimum temperature here is 20oC.
In the third stage the participants will run a benchmark HWBOT 1080P x265. The final score of this benchmark is divided according to the number of processor cores used. Minimum temperature for this stage is 20oC and participants are asked to submit evidence of verification of the temperature using HWMonitor application.
For its own requirements as described in the preamble, is not allowed to use extreme cooling. This means that participants can only use HSF or water cooling. Here not mentioned types of watercooling is allowed so that the participants who have a custom cooling water cooling system can use it. Besides the motherboard used must be from ASUS.
In addition, ASUS is working with various other sponsors to provide prizes to the winner of this series. Maximus Hero VIII, Impact and Ranger gaming motherboards, HyperX Predator DDR4 memory, Liqmax II 240 CPU cooler from Enermax, and Savage HyperX SSD. Selasin, they also gave Lucky Draw for all the participants of this competition in the form of T-shirts, USB keys, mouse pads, thermal paste and fan.
This race will be the event corresponding to the overclock who want to hone deeper knowledge possessed overclocking.
