GENEVA - Greenhouse gas emissions peaked in 2015. World Meteorological Organization (WMO) warned that rising global temperatures will continue to occur from year to year.

"Every year we say this is the limit. We must act now to cut carbon dioxide emissions if we want the temperature rise under control," said WMO Secretary-General Michel Jarraud said quoted by Scientific American, Monday (11/09/2015).

According to the chart belongs to the UN agency, the carbon dioxide level of 400 ppm is slowly rising per year since 1984. The average level of 397.7 ppm of carbon dioxide in 2014 and still continues to rise in early 2015.

"Next year we will report higher concentrations due to El Nino," said Oksana Tarasova, WMO atmospheric research leader at Reuters.

To that end, more than 150 countries including the biggest emitters China and the United States, has been running a program to address emissions by 2020. Unfortunately, the programs that run during this failed to meet emission reduction targets in 2010 by 3 degrees Celsius.

Nevertheless, Jarraud still positive that the control was still better than none at all. "Controlling increase of 1 degree every year is no longer possible, too late, of course, an increase of 2 degrees is better," he concluded.
