Found, Strange Planet Sun Clouds Without Iron

Ditemukan, Planet Aneh Tanpa Matahari Diliputi Awan Besi

EDINBURGH - Clouds are made of molten liquid iron was detected on a planet without a sun, 75 light years from Earth.

The planet-like object, named PSO J318.5-22, regarded as one of the most curious findings. With nearly the size of Jupiter, he alone float freely in space.

Astronomers at the University of Edinburgh using a telescope in Chile to show the planet was covered with a thin layer of clouds and thick. Scientists estimate the new age of approximately 20 million years.

'Planet' it does not have the sun.

Hot dust

Without the glare of the parent star (sun), the research team was able to measure variations in the brightness of the object accurately.

They estimated the temperature inside the cloud exceeds 800 degrees Celsius. Dust cloud consisting of hot and molten iron.

Dr. Beth Biller, faculty of physics and astronomy from the University of Edinburgh, said: "These findings show how the clouds exist everywhere, including planets and planet-like object.

"We are trying to use a technique (measurements) to giant planets around young stars, and eventually we will detect the weather on Earth-like planets that may support life."

The findings are published in The Astrophysical Journal.
