CALIFORNIA - Researchers start doing in-depth studies on animals "strange" that they say may be surrounded by an artificial megastuktur aliens known as the Dyson Sphere.
Star of "strange" KIC 8462852, is 1,480 light-years away, has been monitored by the Kepler Space Telescope for more than four years, beginning in 2009.
Now researchers have taken the time to direct a series of telescopes Allen (Allen Telescope Array / ATA) on the star.
ATA is a system of radio telescopes being built 483 kilometers northeast of San Francisco, USA.
"We saw it with the Allen Telescope Array," said Seth Shostak, senior astronomer at the SETI Institute (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) in Mountain View, California, told Space.com, Monday, October 19th.
However, he warned strange readings may not be caused by a giant alien-made structures.
"So history suggests we'll find an explanation for this that does not involve Klingon, if you will," he added.
Experts have been puzzled by this phenomenon. "We've never seen anything like this star. This is really weird," said Tabetha Boyajian from Yale University, told The Atlantic.
"We thought it might be bad data or movement on the spacecraft, but all of them must be examined again," he added.
