Samsung Launches Galaxy View, Android Gadget's Biggest

After giving a little glimpse at IFA Berlin ago, Samsung has finally released a tablet-sized "giant", Galaxy View, Thursday (29/10/2015).

These tablets can be said to be the giant because it has a much larger size than usual. He himself has a screen size of 18.4 inches and supports Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

In general, most tablets on the market these days has a landscape display between 7 inches to 12 inches.

At the rear, there is a sort of cradle that can be enabled to adjust the angle of the tablet.

Overall, the Galaxy View has a height dimension of 275.8 mm, 451.8 mm long and 11.9 mm thickness. Its weight is 2,65 kg. Samsung itself claimed Galaxy View as largest Android mobile devices.

"At Samsung, we are committed to creating new possibilities and bring our customers to the best mobile experience," wrote JK Shin, CEO and Head of Samsung's IT and Mobile Business in a statement.

Although still call it a tablet, Samsung seems to want the device is geared toward entertainment only. As KompasTekno summarized from The Verge, Thursday (10/29/2015), this device is made for watching movies and TV activities around the house.

No mention what kind of video content that can be enjoyed by the user. However, based on the official image that is spread, it seems this jumbo tablet will support streaming applications, such as Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and Twitch.

"We are very pleased to introduce Galaxy View, a new way to consume mobile video and entertainment," said Shin.

Galaxy View equipped with a 1.6 GHz processor octa-core (unknown), 2 GB RAM, a strong battery support device for 8 hours, and a storage capacity of 32 or 64 GB. The capacity can be expanded using a microSD card.

There is a 2.1 megapixel camera on the front, the possibility exists to the benefit of video calls. In addition, there is also a SIM card slot manifold Nano SIM. This device runs on the Android 5.1 operating system Lollipop.
